Since 2007 Comfort for Critters has provided free, handmade blankets to animal shelters across the US. While these pets await adoption, the blankets provide a comfortable bed year-round. When they are adopted, their blanket goes with them, providing something familiar as they adjust to their “forever family”. We now support over 400 shelters and have donated over 130,000 blankets!

The blankets obviously benefit the pets who will receive them, but the purpose of this book is to highlight the many ways crochet benefits you! You'll learn about the "relaxation response" in crafting, active meditation and how crochet can help with pain management. It also briefly covers the background of CFC and the tools we provide for free to all our volunteers. Of course the 30 easy-to-do crochet patterns are included to help you "relax into your crocheting" and end up with a stunning pet blanket. We include clear instructions and photographs of all the finished blankets too. For the finishing touch, there are pictures of grateful shelter pets and words of encouragement sprinkled throughout.
